Funding
How are our services paid for?
In most cases, services from us
will need to be paid for directly by the client.
However, there are various wider benefits and
schemes that may be relevant to your position. We
summarise the most useful information below (please
follow the links for further information).
Allowances
The ‘Attendance Allowance’ for people over 65 and the ‘Disability Living
Allowance’ for people under 65 are normally
available regardless of an individual's financial
circumstances. Help with understanding and claiming
these (and possibly other benefits) can be found
here.
“I am writing to you all at Kemble Care to say a
big Thank you for all you have done for our
father...the speedy and efficient responses we
received from you were very reassuring. Our
father came to thoroughly look forward to the
carer visits each day.”
Personalisation
‘Personalisation’ is the scheme that
enables the funds available through social care to
be allocated directly to you, or to an advocate or
family member entrusted with this task. It means
that the individual, rather than the council, is in
control of exactly what care or support will best
achieve the desired outcomes. It is a wonderful
tool to enable choice and control, allowing you to
tailor a service that best fits your requirements —
essentially stipulating when and what our carers do
during visits.
Kemble Care support many clients who receive
‘personal budgets’, and who have chosen our service
for its flexibility and quality of care. We offer
considerable reassurance through our excellent staff
and support systems, and would be delighted to
advise you in completing the straightforward
process.
Herefordshire Council is committed to offering a personal budget at all social care assessments.
Carer Breaks
‘Carer Breaks’ offer those involved
with the unpaid care of a family member the funding
to take periods of respite — both routine and
occasional — from the demands of this support.
Kemble Care holds a contract to support such breaks,
which are not dependent on financial assessments.
To help guide you through questions of eligibility
and service, the local ‘carers hub’ has a website
and advisors who can help.
