OUR SERVICES

Our purpose is to provide for each client, a care and support service that is reliable, friendly and effective.

WHAT TYPE OF SERVICES DO WE OFFER?

We are able to assist adult clients in the following ways:
  • Personal care such as dressing, bathing, mobility including the use of hoists and other aids, catheter and stoma care, assistance with medication, overnight support, care of the dying, respite care. We work alongside District Nurses and other medical professionals when appropriate.

  • Other activities such as helping people gain or re-acquire essential living skills, meal preparation, light housework and laundry, shopping, collection of prescriptions, pensions and other errands, companionship.
In all cases our management team, which includes a qualified Nurse Manager, will be experienced in providing and monitoring appropriate help.

The extent of assistance will be organised in consultation with you and can range from several hours each week to full-time day and night care.

HOW ARE OUR SERVICES ORGANISED?

Initial contact

We welcome your enquiry and suggest that in the first instance a telephone discussion of your possible requirements with our Registered Manager would be a helpful starting point.

Home Visit

If help from Kemble Care is being considered we will arrange for one of our Client Managers to visit you at your own home. Such a visit is without obligation on your part but if you decide to employ our services its purpose will include:
  • For us to understand your needs and to explain in practical terms how we may be able to help you.
  • To discuss with you a possible plan of care, including a schedule of carer visits, duties to be performed, service costs and any medication requirements.
  • To start the process of building a rapport with the office team.
We welcome the involvement of other members of the family or advocates where this is relevant and will liaise with other professionals such as doctors, district nurses and social workers as necessary.

Care Staff [return to top]

Our ability to provide a successful service rests upon the quality of our care staff and the support they each receive from us. We have a searching recruitment process and provide new care staff with in-depth training initially, followed by further training throughout their career with us. When selecting care staff to deliver services to clients we look to make an appropriate match in their temperament and personality, as well as in their skills.

Continuing support

Good communication and a mutually trusting relationship are at the heart of organising effective care. Good care also results from teamwork - between you, our office staff and the care staff who come to work in your home.

Each client will have a dedicated client manager, whose function is to organise and monitor the services being provided and to discuss with you timely improvements to ensure that our service continues to meet your needs and expectations.

Our office is staffed on weekdays from 8.30am to 5.00pm; outside these times and at weekends and during public holidays, clients will always be able, in cases of an emergency, to access a member of our management team.

HOW ARE OUR SERVICES PAID FOR? [return to top]

In most cases, services from us will need to be paid for directly by the client. Information regarding our charges and Terms of Business will be given at the time of initial enquiry and confirmed in writing. Government benefits may be available to assist clients in paying for care services. The 'Attendance Allowance' for people over 65 and the 'Disability Living Allowance' for people under 65 are normally available regardless of an individual's financial circumstances. Help with understanding and claiming these (and possibly other benefits) may be available by contacting a 'benefits assessor' at the Social Services department of the Local Authority.

Some enabling services (for example, assisting a client with certain daily living tasks, but not personal care) may be eligible for funding from central government. This service, known as 'Supporting People' is normally restricted to a few hours each week, and for limited periods. For further information please speak to our Registered Manager.

Funding of personal care services can in certain instances be obtained from the Social Services department of the Local Authority. For such funding to be accessed, a financial and needs assessment will need to be made by a social worker who will determine whether the client is eligible. Contact should be made with a Community Service Officer of the Social Services department of either Herefordshire Council or Monmouthshire Council.
